Hi Kat. Thanks for always being there. Well death is the only certainty of our existence, for sure. But until that, what should I be doing? For the moment I'm really concerned about my job situation. I think many people don't really understand that this piece was mainly about that. There's even one person who asked me 'what as this got to due with your looks?'... They don't know the answer is everything: I work for a platform filled with teachers and nice faces. Students, many of them, select teachers based on how they look. Is this awful? Yes. It's how partly it works? Yes as well. I've been noticing my number of students have been decreasing and I know I have been replaced by younger ones, which is stupid given that I have way more experience. One student these days, upon meeting me for the first time even said "you're actually way prettier on the camera than on your profile picture". I don't know if I would be angry or glad at such commentary. I'm a linguistics teacher, my looks should not even be important. But here's how society works these days, hence my whole concern. What will I even do on a remote area of Portugal where my only escape is the digital world? But am I investing on something that will make absolutely poor pretty soon?
