I mention to forget in my article that definitely lots of americans are contributing to improve Portuguese economy. Look at me, I live on teaching them Portuguese.
But it's a coin with two faces. Definitely the house market is just ridiculous. There are tiny flats costing in Lisbon like half a million euros. People don't even make that in a lifetime. I have met so many people who can't ever buy a house and they keep paying rents that are impossible. I could never even pay a rent of 400 euros, let alone one thousand or more. But I also understand how this is nothing to Americans who emigrate and come here to make a living...
There are not real solutions for this.
