Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters Drummer Dies at 50
I wish I weren’t writing this…
Well, everyone that knows me, knows I’m a Rock and Roll fan. I have always been and always will.
Growing up in the 90s, Nirvana and all the grunge scene had a particular impact on me, but if it wasn’t that, I was screaming Alanis Morissette’s songs out lout, where Taylor was also a drummer during the Jagged Little Pill tour.
So, I don’t need to delve more into this, you read the tittle and you know what is this about.
Today when I woke up and heard about Taylor Hawkins death I couldn’t believe it. Yes my friends, it’s unfortunately true. Taylor died yesterday, 25th March 2022.
I thought I was still dreaming when my husband woke me up and said
“You cannot believe it, but Taylor, the Foo Fighters drummer died”
So, I turn on the tv. But tv doesn’t care about music anymore. There’s too much going on, but for me, this is today, the main sad news. So, the only thing I had to do was to go to Foo Fighter’s page on Twitter, and then there it was:
I am sorry If I am being the one spreading the bad news here. But this needs to be spoken.
I’m still in shock. I said to my husband how I was reading the latest book by Dave Grohl “The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music” and obviously how sad it was to read about Kurt Cobain passing away.
But also, if you have ever watch the documentary “ Foo Fighters Back and Forth” you also know how Taylor had such a hard time with addiction and how Dave was so afraid to lose another friend. And know, it happened. The musician was found dead in Bogota, in his room, during their tour in South America.
