That's what I keep thinking. My brother-in-law just welcomed his Brazilian girlfriend here in Portugal. She was amazed when the two of us went shopping and nobody was giving plastic bags for the shops. I told her they are rare in some places now, and if you want you have to buy one as well. She told me nothing like that exists in Brasil, neither that nor a real recycling system. So, it's indeed all for nothing
