Why We Love "Stranger Things" So Much
The Netflix series is a sight for sore eyes, but how did a terror show with teenagers become so adored?
I never liked horror movies or anything that wouldn't let me sleep at night. So when in 2016, I was invited to see Stranger Things, I was very reticent.
I really didn't want to have nightmares about whatever it was. But I made an exception, and from the first episode to the last of that first season, I must have spent more than seven hours sitting on the same couch.
Set in the fictional American city of Hawkins in the 80s, the series has generated fans of all ages and from various places in the world.
But what exactly makes people enjoy a horror series so much and whose plot around teenagers does not seem to appeal to the viewer?
To answer this, we need to consider that it is not only about the story, the suspense, the mystery, and the incredible special effects that are a great work of art.
There is something more incredible behind it all, and even though it is perhaps not the central theme, it is in the details that the magic is found.
